Nice lay out of the hotel with two swimming pools for the 20 or so guest houses. The guest houses are spacious and well designed. Free Wireless a big plus. Breakfast was an interesting take on a buffet with everything cooked to order. No food standing around getting stale. Nice touch.
Loved the way the resort was laid out with individual cottages amongst lots of trees and greenery. Also, a great homely feel about the resort and the restaurant.
Nothing specifically. Perhaps the fact that they don't accept American Express cards.
Breakfast and Service are excellent

The resort is at the end of the city thus the best possibility for some relaxing, quite days in the nature and in the sun, lying at the pool, enjoying homemade cusine, relaxing with a massage. Next to that hotel offers free shuttle to the city, free interne, free bike rent and shuttle to the beach and has a lot of intetesting offers for excursions and adventures. We had some relaxing days at the pool and enjoyed the Thai food a lot!!! Great hotel stuff, very friendly, helpful and caring.
The hotel description says 180m to the beach. Ok, its correct you are close to the sea but it is not nice, no beach and not nice for swimming and relaxing. The descripzion should say that there is a free shuttle bus to the beach which is close to the hotel!!
quiet, can relax
to far from beach, not only 150m, more than about 500m and 2 big private areas between the resort and the beach, can not go with car on the beach very smal way
A very nice bungalow! Service-minded and friendly staff (with one exception see below).
Boring breakfast. Hotel had problems with online payment system that customer had to fix and pay for.
200 meters from nice beach - lan in room - quiet location yet near to town(5km) - helpful and friendly staff - motorbike rental at resort - two swimming pools
low water pressure in shower - mosquitoes because of jungle setting
Awesome place to stay if looking for a relaxing romantic vacation.
Good location, value for money, great bungalows with two swimming pools right outside the door to chose from. If you want a quiet romantic location this is the place. Breakfast was good , not flashy but adequate with fresh fruit and fry up and as much coffee or tea as you wanted to drink. 100 metres to beach so good for a romantic stroll. I can only say good things about Baan Duangkaew Resort.
Some mosquitos but you need to light the coils early or cover up in the evenings . Standard mossie precautions, same as some parts of Aus, so no problem for Aussies
Beatiful garden, trees and flowers surrounding the house, quiet and private. Birds are singing. Each house can step into the pool directly. The room is clean with considerate facilities. Very holiday mood. Good location (150m to the beach, 10 minutes distance to downtown by Taxi, 100thb on average, or 30thb per person by shared tuk-tuk). Good service, very friendly staff.
Small reception area but won't influence anything. Can consider provide more choices of breakfast though I like the homemade bread very much.
I have stayed there already a few times, usually with my family, the resort has a good mix of beauty (nature, garden, pools, resort layout, bungalow design) and location (walking distance to the beach, quiet side street) and value (reasonable price). Highly recommended.
Generally there is nothing wrong with the resort besides small things that are the flipside of the 'good value' package. However this time two issues spoiled my stay a bit: the aircon unit in my bungalow was extremely noisy (there must have been something wrong), and the room was full of mosquitos.
The whole nature-resort feel was really cozy and relaxing. A great way to really just lounge around the pool or read a good book at the porch. A very good vacation resort!
Good and private and idealy located for family holiday.
A good location near the beach and the weekend market. Nice rooms - plenty of space and all looking out at swimming pool. Feels very peaceful with good gardens.
The breakfast was adequate but could do with a few more options. Sometimes it was difficult to regulate the shower temperature.
